The good, the bad & the beautiful…

When difficult experiences arrive, Life grants us the opportunity to seek understanding and at times the best way to learn is to discover alternative perspectives. If we can change our sight in order to uplift our minds, we could see things differently easily. Practicing this is essential to growing and finding good even in hard times. When we attempt to find the good in the experiences we label as bad, we learn that it’s easier to control our emotions, instead of allowing them to control us. If we pay attention and don’t mind growing through the pain, we will find that difficult times teach us how to be better.

Live long and prosper 🖖,

They say, Ladies and Gentlemen, that there’s nothing better than sex. I find that hard to believe when I see something like this. Now, I normally don’t blog about food but baby, after I saw this pic I had to think again. Let’s just say, it was an orgasmic experience! 😰  Please vote for my good chef friend, Calvin Cunningham’s Rainbow Hawaiian burger. Here’s the link. Let’s make it count PLEASE!!!

Until next time your sweet little nuttins,

Black Secret Technology: Beyonce’s Formation

Black Secret Technology: Beyonce’s Formation

Renegade Futurism

Beyonce and the secret society Beyonce and the secret society

Trayvon Martin’s (Sandra Bland’s) birthday, Mardi Gras, Black History Month, Black Panthers’ 50th/Super Bowl’s 50th. Beyonce’s release for her latest song and music video, Formation, was strategically dropped today. Already, bloggers and critics are analyzing the video, so here I am taking notes, comparing/contrasting the drum and bass in A Guy Called Gerald’s Black Secret Technology (1995) with the trap music in Formation. Basically, trap is rap plus dubstep and both of these genres can easily be mixed with drum and bass.

Formation reveals an evolving black techno-vernacular.

But despite its hybrid roots, techno is specifically an African American variation on the themes of inner-city collapse… – Ben Williams, Black Secret Technology

Formation honors the Black South, which has African roots.

Formation is a great way to educate folks about black history, especially the notion of a radical blackness that perseveres in spite…

Fly with me…

Freedom isn’t just a word. Freedom is a way of life mentally, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and sensually. One can be physically hampered and still be free, you see. Some claim to be free but lie concurrently. Hiding behind masks, living foolishly to those who can see, riddled with shame, existing in confined secrecy. I, myself have no understanding of such self sabotaging treachery. I would rather partake in lifelong debauchery and be judged than to act as if I am something I wasn’t made to be. Frivolous lips call it sin, while simply “Eye Am” being Me.

The people who reside in this world are not separate from us. On an inner level, we are all the same. We all need the same things in order to survive life. No matter our geographical location, are we not responsible for caring for our brothers and sisters? When children are dying due to lack of response and action from the government whether local, state or federal, are we not supposed to protest and demand change? Who are you if you choose not to? Who are you if you sit on your hands with your mouth closed and your energy stagnant while people are without what it takes for human beings to survive? Water. Who are we if we don’t care enough to say enough is enough and we actually do something about it?

America, who are we?

How Trusting My Intuition Changed My Dating Life

How Trusting My Intuition Changed My Dating Life

Oh Wize One

People may judge me for this, but I love The Steve Harvey Show. My favorite segment on his show is Love Him or Leave Him. In this section of the show a woman usually expresses her relationship woes and asks should she “love her man or leave him”. It’s rare that Steve ever suggests that the women “love him.”  Steve gives great advice to the women who seek his wisdom but the interesting facet of this segment is the woman always knows whatever she is dealing with is out of line.

It made me wonder,  why do women seek validation to leave a situation that they already know isn’t working? Women consult everyone in the process of a break up; our friends,  family, even Steve Harvey. Why don’t we listen to our intuition? If we listened to our first minds, we would save ourselves from so much anguish and wasted time.

There is…

The #Dating Series: Intentions

When you meet someone, if they’re truly interested in you everything they do should match how they pay attention to you the questions they ask the things they want to know about you if they’re truly interested in you and who you are and what you can be for them and what they can be for you not just what you like to eat or how are you are in bed but what makes you happy what makes you smile what makes you want to get up in the morning what makes you sad what makes you think they should be interested in every single intricate detail of you and the being of who you are and everything that they should they do should coincide with that. If everything doesn’t match if everything that they do doesn’t match what they say then there’s an imbalance somewhere at that point you need to make a decision as to if you want spend time in that person’s energy or not.

Until next time,
